Edge of Dreaming Edge of Dreaming - Sunday, May 20 - St. Jude Church - 4 p.m.

What exactly is the good news of the Gospel?  There's an old song that says: “Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got till it's gone.”  The next Spiritual Film Club selection, “Edge of Dreaming”  does just that.  It tells a great story about a decent loving woman who is nonetheless completely secularized. fr eugeneJoin Us for The Gospel of John with Fr. Eugene Hensell, Monday, March 5 -Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 7pm in the Keller Room. Fr. Eugene returns for four consecutive evenings to lead us through a study of the Gospel of John. John was the last canonical gospel accepted into the New Testament and its style is quite different than what is found in the synoptic gospels.  The first part of the gospel of John (1-12) is often referred to as "the book of signs."  There are at least seven signs presented in these chapters whose function is to disclose the "real" identity of Jesus.  Many of the presentations for this gospel focus on these signs and related material. Cost is $5 per night per participant.

Father Eugene Hensell, OSB, is a Benedictine monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey.  Since 1997, Father Eugene has been engaged in full time retreat work, conducting biblical retreats and workshops for priests, religious, and laity throughout the country and in several foreign countries. He brings to this work over 30 years of teaching experience, as well as a strong sense of the Church’s pastoral needs. Fr. Eugene brings to his students a deep and sympathetic understanding of the challenges facing many facets of life in the contemporary Church.
