Mary Johnson teaches Kindergarten at St. Jude. She grew up in Mishawaka and graduated from Ball State University. She has taught for 5 years. Mary was inspired to go into teaching after taking a child development class in high school. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. Her favorite pastimes include: reading, camping, and cooking. Mrs. Johnson believes that singing and being excited about what she teaches helps her students in their learning process. She engages her kindergarteners by playing math games and doing science experiments. Mary's teaching motto is "When everyone is having fun learning, then a lot can be accomplished together."

The primary grades celebrated Earth Day today. Students Participated in 5 stations with activities ranging from making bird feeders to listening to stories about caring for the Earth. We also challenged our students to make today a paper free day. The Kindergartners used slates, play dough, and manipulatives to do their class work.
